Wax

We use a 100% coconut/soy wax blend. We do not use paraffin wax - paraffin wax is derived from petroleum, originally crude oil, which is an unsustainable and non-renewable resource. Studies have also shown that paraffin wax candles emit toxic fumes when burning, while coconut/soy wax is non-toxic. 

Fragrance Oils

We collaborate with multiple high-end fragrance houses based in the United States to create our luxury scents. Our fragrance oils are derived from both natural and high quality synthetic ingredients. We source only phthalate-free fragrance oils, which means they are non-toxic to burn. Research has shown that phthalates may be harmful to one's health and may cause birth defects.

Wicks

We use only cotton core wicks with wax coating, as all the components are sustainable - the cotton and wax. Other wicks on the market include metal core wicks which use tin, aluminum, or lead - non-renewable resources. However, lead core wicks were banned in the United States in 2003. There are also wicks available that are primed with petroleum, which we do not use for the reasons listed above about paraffin wax.

Vessels + Boxes

We work with glass and tin vessels. All vessels can be reused and repurposed! Pencil holder, planter, bathroom organizer, etc. The glass vessels can be recycled onced cleaned.

All boxes are made of paper and can be recycled or repurposed, as well. 

When shipping orders we use cardboard boxes packed with tissue paper and biodegradable packing peanuts. All of these materials are recyclable and biodegradable. 

In the hot summer months, we do wrap candles in thermal bubble wrap. This is to ensure that the candles do not melt. We recommend reusing this bubble wrap instead of throwing it away.

Due to the nature of our wax melts, we currently package them in plastic clamshells.

If you ever find any other plastic within your shipment (bubble wrap, air pillows, etc.), these have been reused from shipments we received in our studio from another supplier. We would prefer to reuse it than to throw it away!
